DAY TRIP DESTINATIONS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Plenty of reasons to go out with the family
Attractions and activities in the Mäntyharju countryside
The Mäntyharju countryside comes to life, especially during the summer, when the waters of the area are freed from ice and tourists can get to know our lake landscapes, for example, by renting canoes or kayaks in our area. Rent a canoe or kayak from Miekankoski and explore Repovesi National Park by water!
In our countryside we have the Repovesi National Park and many other tourist attractions. Visit the Lainjärvi bird tower, where you can see the ecological diversity of our lake area. Or search for geocaches and discover many interesting places in Mäntyharju nature!
If you want to explore Finland’s history, you can visit the Miekankoski Museum in the morning and then the Woikoski museums in the afternoon.
Visit also our countryside farms and buy local Finnish food!
More information and photos of the attractions can be found at Visit Mäntyharju website.
LIVING AT A COTTAGE IN THE QUIET OF NATURE
Mäntyharju is one of the most popular summer cottage resorts in Finland. There are almost 4,800 summer cottages in the municipality, and thanks to the cottages, the population will triple in summer. Mäntyharju is a great place to spend a holiday in the cottage, as Mäntyharju has hundreds of kilometers of lakeshore. This guarantees holidaymakers arriving at the cottage the opportunity to enjoy the peace of nature in their own cottage.
However, if you do not want to spend your entire holiday at the cottage, there is a wide range of activities available such as climbing, canoeing and rafting in the countryside and in the lake areas of Mäntyharju. They are available well into the autumn. There are also hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty, which are open all year round, provided that there is not much snow.
