Exhibitions, concerts and activities for cultural and nature lovers

Art Centre Salmela and Immo’s nature trail

Art Centre Salmela’s Art Summer is one of the Finland’s most popular summer cultural events and it is an absolute summer destination for cultural enthusiasts.

More than 30,000 visitors visit Salmela and its events each year, and it is one of Mäntyharju’s most famous attractions.

Salmela is a place for artists to work in the winter, but in summer it opens the doors to the general public. There are not only exhibitions, but also concerts by well-known Finnish and international singers and orchestras.

There is also a Domander exhibition area in the vicinity of the Salmela yard, where you can see art in several smaller buildings. Art can also be seen next to the art centre in Restaurant Kesäheinä.

Salmela is also suitable for families with children. Children under the age of 15 will have access to exhibitions at reduced prices. Children under seven can visit centre free of charge. There is also free access to the Salmela yard.

Art Centre Salmela is also responsible for the activities and exhibitions of the Vuohijärvi Nature and Culture House in Vuohijärvi.

Opposite the art center is not only the Mäntyharju church, but also the approximately 900 m long Immo’s nature trail on the shores of Siirlahti, which is an accessible route. There are history and nature guides along the path.
