Versatile routes on sand and asphalt roads for cyclists of all ages
Bike routes and bike rental at Lake Korpijärvi
There are several different cycling routes around Korpijärvi.
There are no special requirements for routes, and all routes are suitable for cyclists who are in good shape.
The bike can be just an ordinary bicycle, but the gravel roads around Korpijärvi are especially suitable for mountain bikes, fatbike bikes and gravel bikes.
Most of the trails are on quiet village roads with sand or gravel. Only Kouvolantie is a bigger road, which is not recommended for small children.
Ask your local cottage rental companies for advice on the length and severity of different routes, and especially routes suitable for small children.
Cycling routes in the Korpijärvi area can be planned and measured in advance using the Mäntyharju map service.
Route 1: Halmeniemi route 21-39 km
For example, you can start the route from the intersection between Kouvolantie and Halmeniementie. From the intersection start driving along Halmeniementie.
You can get back to Kouvolantie through three different options.
The shortest route is when you drive from the intersection of Kouvolantie to Halmeniementie about 7.2 km and turn right onto Pitkälahdentie. Drive about 7.5 km after and turn right onto Väliniementie. Drive about 2.5 km to get to the intersection of Kouvolantie. Turn right at the intersection and drive back towards Halmeniemi intersection along Kouvolantie about 4.1 km. This route runs near the shore of Lake Korpijärvi, and the total length of the route is about 21 km.
The second route alternative turns left from Halmeniementie to Vanosentie and back to Kouvolantie. On this route you will first drive from Kouvolantie intersection to Halmeniementie about 9.5 km, after which turn right onto Vanosentie. Drive about 8.8 km along Vanosentie to the intersection of Kouvolantie. Turn right at the intersection and drive back towards Halmeniemi intersection along Kouvolantie about 11.6 km. This route runs through the forest landscape of Korpijärvi, and the total length of the route is about 30 km.
The longest route turns from Halmeniementie to the left of Huuhilontie, where you can get back to Kouvolantie. On this route you will first drive from Kouvolantie intersection to Halmeniementie about 14.3 km, after which turn right to Huuhilontie. Drive about 10.2 km to the intersection of Kouvolantie. Turn right at the intersection and drive back towards Halmeniemi intersection along Kouvolantie about 14.2 km. This route runs through the forest landscape of Korpijärvi, and the total length of the route is about 39 km.

Route 2: Valtola route 29 km
For example, you can start the route from the intersection of Kivilahdentie and Kouvolantie near the Tommolansalmi Holiday Centre, where you start driving south along Kouvolantie.
Drive about 11 km along Kouvolantie and turn right onto Valtolantie. Drive about 9.8 km and turn right onto Kivilahdentie. Drive about 8 km to get back to crossroads of Kivilahdentie and Kouvolantie.
The total length of the route is about 29 km.

Route 3: Tommola route 45 km
The route can be started near the Tommolansalmi resort at the intersection of Kivilahdentie and Kouvolantie. Start driving along Kivilahdentie.
Drive about 8 km on Kivilahdentie and turn right onto Valtolantie. Drive about 17 km and turn right onto Kokkosenkyläntie.
Drive 16.8 km to Kokkosenkyläntie and turn right to Kouvolantie. Drive about 2.9 km along Kouvolantie and get back to the intersection of Kivilahdentie and Kouvolantie.
The total length of the route is about 45 km.

Bike rental
The cottage rental companies in the Korpijärvi area rent bicycles, but some of them rent bicycles only for their own customers.
For example, Tommolansalmi rents various bicycles to its customers. The bikes are rented so that the starting point for cycling is in Tommolansalmi. Bicycles cannot therefore be rented for use elsewhere.
